The Low Energy ν Monitor (LEM) is an iron/scintillator calorimeter that is designed to search for the on-axis neutrino flux at the T2K experiment in the energy range 0.2-1 GeV. LEM will improve the understanding of the uncertainties of the T2K neutrino beam spectrum at energies below 1GeV, which is a key region for the T2K neutrino oscillation analysis, as well as improve the general understanding of the T2K beam characteristics. The LEM detector was designed at LHEP in Bern, and the construction of LEM was completed in May 2011.
